An Old Geezer at an Old Geyser -- Pray for Truth Road Trip --Part 9

An old geezer at an old geyser
Solomon wrote in the Proverbs, "Old people are distinguished by grandchildren."  This is surely true.  This old man is not, however, distinguished by his dress.

I titled this image from our Pray for Truth Road Trip "An old geezer in front of an old geyzer."

Solomon concluded the Proverb, "children take pride in their parents."

While my untucked shirt distinguishes me as an old geezer, and probably embarrasses my children, I pray that my faithfulness to God will be a source of pride for them.  I hope our commitment to Jesus "distinguishes" Paulie and me as we mature.

The geyser is called faithful.  It was given that name because it spouts off every hour or so.  It faithfully presents the same show every hour year after year.  Old faithful doesn't swing wildly between extremes.

The brilliant British 20th century writer G.K. Chesterton observed, "The whole curse of the last century has been what is called the Swing of the Pendulum; that is, the idea that Man must go alternately from one extreme to the other. It is a shameful and even shocking fancy; it is the denial of the whole dignity of mankind. When Man is alive he stands still. It is only when he is dead that he swings."

Many people believe that America is swinging to an extreme right now, and that it will swing back from practices like sodomy and abortion.  In truth this thinking is evidence that we are slipping the hangman's noose around our neck.

Stealing is Evil: Vomit from the Heart

It's what comes out of a person that pollutes:  obscenities, lusts, thefts, murders, adulteries, greed, depravity, deceptive dealings, carousing, mean looks, slander, arrogance, foolishness -- all these are vomit from the heart. -- Mark 7:20-23 (Message)

Good morning folks.

A few weeks ago Zena Fritz and Michael McQuade stole my laptop computer.  It was given to me by my father one year ago.  For about fifty hours a week God has called me to drive the van pictured above.  Fritz and McQuade stole the laptop out of this van.  I was sitting in the passenger seat when they performed their evil deed.

A trainee was sitting in the driver's seat.  The laptop was stolen from the mesh pocket behind the driver's seat.  Fritz and McQuade were sitting directly behind the drivers seat during transportation.  Fritz (tattooed from head to foot), the woman of the pair, was carrying a large bag.  The pair are in their late 20's.

While I didn't see them steal the laptop (If I had I wouldn't be in this situation), the Holy Spirit brought to my mind the thought to check for the laptop minutes after Fritz and McQuade exited the van.  Discovering that it was missing I immediately told the trainee to return to the place where we dropped Fritz and McQuade.

As I exited the van I found myself facing McQuade.  He was returning to his apartment building.  Fritz was nowhere to be seen.  I didn't immediately recognize McQuade as the man who had been in the van.  I haltingly stated that my laptop was missing from the van and asked if he was Fritz.  He said he was McQuade.  I repeated that my laptop was missing.  He acted concerned and entered the apartment building.  I assumed he was going to get Fritz.

I then called the police.  While I was on the phone with the police Fritz exited the apartment building and proceeded to insult me and the agency punctuating her assertions of innocence with expletives.  She was back in the building before I hung up.

It's been about a month since the theft.  The laptop was worth $600 when it was purchased a year ago.  It was in good condition.

Augusta Police Department
After waiting nearly an hour we decided to drive to the police station.  I filed a report of the theft with Officer Anthony Drouin.  He eventually visited with Fritz and McQuade in their apartment.  They denied stealing the laptop.  Drouin didn't find it in their apartment.

While I didn't see them steal the laptop they were the only people with opportunity.  My trainee filed a sworn affidavit with Officer Drouin indicating that he saw the laptop as he was belting in a wheelchair just before we picked up Fritz and McQuade.  This testimony has bumped up the significance of the case somehow.

Yesterday I spoke with the Augusta Police Department person who processes Reports.  Drouin told me that I should get a copy of the report of his investigation.  I am considering filing a lawsuit in small claims court and feel that the report of his investigation would be of some help to me.  I was told the report would cost me $20 and that it would not be complete because the matter was now considered a crime.  The report processing person said that my copy of the report would be "redacted."

I'm not a lawyer.  If I were then I suppose I would understand why the victim cannot obtain a complete report of the police investigation regarding the theft of his property.  While Fritz and McQuade are being transported at taxpayers expense to the tune of thousands of dollars a year the taxpayer (me) is forced to pay for justice.  Something isn't right with this picture.

I've also discovered that filing the small claims lawsuit could get costly.  I've yet to determine how much.  I know that it all starts with fifty bucks for the District Court.  Then there are fees for "serving" the thief.

My intention since the theft has been to file the small claims suit.  While that remains my intention I have decided to add blogging about this experience to the process.  And I won't be redacting anything.

Better Practice Saying Governor Michaud

James Fallows of the Atlantic makes an important observation in this article.

He observes that Cutler's release of his supporters to make a "strategic vote" and Angus King's immediate announcement that he would vote for Michaud shifts the fundamentals of this three way election.

Paul LePage defeated Cutler by just 10,000 votes four years ago.  He left the Democrat, Libby Mitchell, 100,000 votes behind.

The election is now Michaud's to lose.

LePage has run a typical establishment style Republican campaign.  He's ignored the issues that make the heart of his base beat.  This leaves him with tepid and cold support from the money people.  The Christians who take time to vote will cast their ballot for him because there's nobody else.  There is not, however, any momentum.  Nobody cares all that much.

And Christians are becoming increasingly uninvolved in politics as the country they love morphs into Sodom.  I don't blame them one bit.  A life is full of a limited number of money and minutes.  Christians are waking up and realizing that the fund raising letters are full of lies.  They know that candidates won't fight to end abortion and criminalize sodomy, no matter how many envelopes they lick.  They are walking away from churches and politics.  They should.

Christians properly prioritize these issues when they think about doing something political.  A nation that allows "doctors" to murder babies for convenience sake while it jams sodomy down the throats of vulnerable children is pure evil.  Christians don't recognize their nation.  And it disgusts them.

It is probably too late for America.  If it isn't, it will be men willing to fight evil who will save it.  Nothing else will do.

This is fun to watch

Congressgay Mike Michaud was honored recently.  And Eliot Cutler is beside himself.  Angry.

Michaud wants to be Maine's first sodomite Governor.  He is running against Paul LePage, Maine's current Governor.  Eliot Cutler is also in the race as an independent.  Cutler wants to be Maine's first pro LGBTQABCDEFGHIJKLMNOProgay Governor.

In this NPR story Cutler whines about Michaud being honored at the sodomy parade in Portland last month.

Cutler believes that this is a matter of principle.

Referring to the 19 times Michaud voted for common sense by voting against "gay" rights while serving in the Maine Legislature Cutler says, "That was a moment, those were 19 moments, when principle was important and he voted no."

He is right that this is a matter of principle.  The principles of both Michaud and Cutler are, however, perverted.

I'm not trying to be mean.  Heaven forbid.  I'm telling the truth.

Here are some of the real principles at issue in this very gay debate.

Leviticus 18:22 KJV

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Genesis 19:24 KJV

Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven

Matthew 11:24 KJV

But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

Ezekiel 16:49 KJV

Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

This last observation by the prophet Ezekiel is most instructive.  We all know how proud they are.  They label their parades with the word.  They demand that we learn all about their pride.

They are proud of their "fullness of bread" and their "abundance of idleness."  And sodomy does absolutely nothing to help the poor and needy.  Their sexual practices bring death, not life.

Mainers know this, and they are concerned about these principles.  The privacy of the voting booth and the perverted principles of Cutler and Michaud will propel Paul LePage to another four years in the Blaine House.

Maine Governor Thinks Sodomy is a Bad Thing

Maine's Governor is taking it on the chin.  Angry at a Liberal politician the Governor suggested that he and the people of Maine are being sodomized.  This of course raised a chorus of criticism from the feminized among us.  Leading the choir in the Portland Press Herald article condemning the Governor is, appropriately, a choir director.

The executive director (a church worship leader) of the Christian group I once proudly headed (when it was willing to fight) led other voices for emasculation in condemning the conservative governor.  It is meaningless to give the views expressed in this article any deeper reflection.  It is the sort of thinking expressed in that article that has brought us to this point of cultural and moral insanity.

The governor got angry.  Good for him.  He named names.  So be it.

Like all of us when we get angry he'll probably wish he had expressed his feelings differently when he has time to reflect.

I for one am, however, very thankful that when his emotions stripped away the political facade and he sought for a suitably offensive epithet to express those angry emotions he found that sodomy served.

For that I say, PRAISE GOD!

Who is Walking Away from the Battle?

The destruction of Sodom
and Gomorrah
Our splendid Maine summer is here at last, and people want to think about camping, boating, and fishing instead of worry about politics. That is fine. Not everyone is called to fight the forces of immorality which have engulfed our state.

Earlier this week, someone made the laughable comment that I "walked away from the battle" when I left the Christian Civic League.  I wish someone had told me that earlier!  I was wondering why I was so bogged down with work and worries about our nation's future.

The  gentleman's comments were included in a webpage thread to an online newspaper article in which he is quoted.  He claimed in his remarks that I was "competitive" and that I created a rift with the Roman Catholic Church.

I've already addressed the charge that I created a rift with the Catholic Church here. Someone ought to call my Catholic friends to ask for comment.  The claim that I was competitive is too silly for anyone to worry about.

But let me address the laughable claim that I "walked away from the battle." That way we will know what the battle is, and we will know just who walked away from it.
